It holds up better than it looks, with a few rules to follow. A tight looped bouclé in a mid tone hides everyday marks, while a loose weave can snag on claws and zips. Cream shows less than you would think in a low-traffic lounge, though a home with young children may want the cushions and throw in a darker, washable cover they can pull off. A fabric guard applied on fitting and a quick weekly vacuum keep the loops clean and stop dust settling deep.

A single round table works harder than a big rectangle in a tight plan. Keep the television on the side wall to save the main wall for the seating. The spider pendant can shrink to fewer bulbs, since the point is height and scatter, not the exact count.
