About Stairs Area Interiors

Common questions from homeowners.

It is the long crystal chandelier that drops down the full double height of the stairwell. Hung from a round cove-lit ceiling, it fills the empty vertical space and becomes the showpiece as you come up the stairs.

The railing is clear glass with slim brass posts and a wooden top handrail. The glass keeps the view open so the chandelier and the tall space are not blocked.

There is a large textured relief panel with an arch motif that adds depth and shadow to the wall, so the stairwell has something interesting to look at beyond just the chandelier.

It works best where there is real double height for it to hang into. In a normal-height stairwell you would use a shorter fixture. Share your stair dimensions with the designer and they will suggest the right size.

Most are on a motorised or accessible mounting so they can be lowered for cleaning. The designer can plan the fixing so upkeep stays easy from the landing.
